Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the strategic direction and roadmap for Confluent’s internal access management program, maturing toward sustained governance and least-privilege outcomes.
  • •Enforce service-to-service (S2S) authentication and formalize non-human identity (NHI) from pilot into a governed program, including access controls for AI agents.
  • •Own the Access Management Standard and supporting policies for least privilege, separation of duties, and periodic access reviews across human and machine access.
  • •Define and track access metrics, program OKRs, and monthly execution/executive-review cadence; communicate risk posture and progress to senior leadership.
  • •Drive cross-functional execution and integration with adjacent GRC domains and partner teams (Insider Threat, IT/Identity, Detection & Response) using clear RACI.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years in security program management, identity & access management, or a related discipline, including 3+ years running an enterprise- or platform-scale access program.
  • •Deep expertise in identity and access management concepts such as least privilege, separation of duties, RBAC/ABAC, just-in-time (JIT), privileged access management (PAM), and access review/certification.
  • •Working knowledge of machine and workload identity, including service-to-service authentication, non-human identity, service accounts, and secrets/key management, plus AI-agent access patterns.
  • •Security engineering fundamentals for cloud infrastructure security controls across GCP, AWS, and/or Azure, including Kubernetes and cloud control-plane access models.
  • •Experience integrating access processes/controls into GRC and access-orchestration platforms, with a bias toward automation and data-driven decision-making.
