Key Responsibilities

  • •Investigate industrial incidents, especially ones with high consequences and understand the hazards related to industrial facilities and their relevant controls.
  • •Identify, preserve, and examine incident evidence using widely accepted forensic science principles.
  • •Support investigation teams by ensuring proper investigation techniques are understood and used.
  • •Conduct through investigations using appropriate investigative tools for the incident in question. Understand incident causation and impact of human factors.
  • •Develop and/or thoroughly review all draft incident investigation reports and complete all stages of review.
  • •Identify recommendations that should be shared globally for corporate wide implementation.
  • •Develop lessons learned and safety alerts/bulletins to communicate actions to prevent recurrence.
  • •Educate employees, contractors, and others, to ensure timely communication of lessons learned.
  • •Develop and review corporate safety guidance on incident investigations.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an Accredited Institution
  • •10 years of experience investigating high consequence (major) industrial incidents
  • •Excellent ability to communicate in English with peers as well as management, and to produce clear and concise oral and written reports in English
