Key Responsibilities

•Lead contributions to Mapbox Studio, our flagship map design tool, a React/Redux app; ship simple, approachable, performant, testable code.
•Facilitate and make informed technical decisions that drive the long-term vision for maps at Mapbox.
•Build workflow tools that enable map designers to create beautiful maps faster and easier.
•Solve complex architecture problems in an extensible, maintainable way and bring clarity to technical challenges across the organization.
•Participate in design processes by listening to users, attending critiques, and providing guidance based on technical constraints.

Key Requirements

•Proven experience building client-side applications using React and TypeScript (ES6+) with HTML5 and CSS3
•Strong state management experience using Redux or similar
•Extensive experience integrating RESTful APIs and working with cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS
•Experience with testing frameworks such as Playwright or Jest to ensure code reliability and performance
•Ability to navigate the full development lifecycle independently and mentor peers
