Develop, revise, and coordinate technical procedures that enable safe execution of work across dimensional inspection, material testing, metrology, procurement, radiography, and weld inspection for the Y-12 and Pantex sites. Ensure procedures comply with applicable DOE requirements and internal standards, manage procedure reviews and comment resolution, and support verification/validation by implementing hazard controls and capturing quality/performance data.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop new, revised, or modified technical procedures for dimensional inspection, material testing, metrology, procurement, radiography, and weld inspection.
•Comply with Y15-232 and the Technical Procedure Authoring Tool (TPAT) when authoring technical procedures.
•Occasionally develop or revise administrative procedures and comply with Y15-235 and the Administrative Procedure Authoring Tool (APAT).
•Develop enterprise procedures applicable to Y-12 and Pantex.
•Prepare and coordinate procedure reviews, resolve comments, implement hazard controls, and support verification/validation through quality and performance data.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor of Science degree with 15-20 years of experience in technical disciplines, including experience writing technical procedures in a commercial or Weapons Complex facility (or 18 years of equivalent technical procedure writing experience).
•Familiarity with regulatory and administrative requirements affecting procedures, determining applicable technical requirements by reviewing DOE Orders and Standards, and related QA and safety documents.
•Active DOE Q clearance or ability to obtain one is required.
•Ability to comply with the technical procedure process and authoring tool requirements for procedure development (Y15-232 and TPAT).
•Familiarity with hazard analysis and related nuclear criticality safety (NCS) documentation used to support procedures and controls.
