Key Responsibilities

  • •Undertake fluvial geomorphology and WFD assessments across a diverse project portfolio.
  • •Contribute to the development and delivery of internal training materials for fluvial geomorphology and watercourse BNG.
  • •Lead on and assist in writing proposals for a wide client base.
  • •Conduct watercourse BNG assessments and develop enhancements to achieve 10% net gain.
  • •Produce high-quality reports and support scheduling and budget management, working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams while contributing to business development for the hydromorphology service line.

Key Requirements

  • •Strong professional experience and a track record in fluvial geomorphology and WFD, including field survey planning and leading/coordinating large projects.
  • •Relevant degree (BSc or MSc) in environmental science/geography (or equivalent).
  • •Experience in undertaking WFD assessments.
  • •Project management experience, including management of subcontractors and associates.
  • •Full membership of CIWEM, CIEEM, RGS is required/ideal, and chartered for this grade is preferred; WSP will support chartership. Specialized knowledge in areas like river channel design, sediment sampling/analysis, GIS, BNG river condition assessment, WFD, or fluvial audit is advantageous.
