Provide Tier II operations and maintenance for digital communications satellite subsystems at a Regional Hub Node supporting deployed DoD customers. Configure carriers on a Master Reference Terminal, interpret transmission plans, and prepare/activate/test satellite systems before missions. Monitor and troubleshoot system performance (availability, utilization, throughput, latency) using spectrum monitoring and test equipment, interface with commercial and military satellite controllers, and complete operator-level PMCS while complying with security procedures.

Key Responsibilities

•Work under the functional/operational supervision of the Station Manager/Assistant Station Manager.
•Operate and maintain digital communications satellite subsystem.
•Interpret transmission plans and configure carriers on the Master Reference Terminal (MRT).
•Configure, prepare, activate, and test satellite systems per service requests 24 hours prior to mission start.
•Evaluate performance issues and perform testing/troubleshooting, including interfacing with commercial and military satellite controllers and executing operator-level PMCS per technical manuals.

Key Requirements

•High School/GED plus 6+ years satellite communications configuration experience, or an Associate Degree/Trade School in Information Technology plus 4+ years satellite communications configuration experience.
•Current Unexpired COMPTIA Security+CE certification required prior to date of hire.
•Minimum active Secret Clearance.
•US citizenship required by the contract.
•Able to obtain GVF SATCOM Professional within 10 months of hire, Linux/Unix Fundamentals Udemy within 30 days of hire, and CPR Certification within 6 months of hire.
