Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage subordinates’ activities related to defense of lawsuits and matters involving GEICO insureds in liability and property damage cases, and UM/UIM and subrogation suits.
  • •Interview and approve job applicants; conduct and/or review associate performance appraisals; initiate or approve salary and other personnel changes.
  • •Counsel associates and take disciplinary action or terminate employment as appropriate; represent GEICO insureds in liability and UM/UIM and subrogation/PD matters.
  • •Research laws and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda; render opinions on liability, damage, and value; prepare and handle pleadings, motions, discovery, and trial-related examinations.
  • •Train and supervise less experienced attorneys and monitor bar requirements/CLE; review office reports and implement changes to improve office statistics and performance.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 166,050 - 260,350 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Juris Doctor degree (required).
  • •Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in applicable jurisdictions and maintain licensing/CLE requirements as applicable.
  • •Minimum 10 years of litigation experience, including insurance defense or personal injury.
  • •Management experience required, specifically managing a team of attorneys and support staff.
  • •Successful performance handling primary trial responsibility for cases of significant severity and complexity.
