Key Responsibilities

  • •Set up and operate 3/5-axis CNC specialized optical machining centers in a compressed work week schedule.
  • •Assemble cutting tools into tool-holders, position tool-holders in machine spindles/tool changers, and perform tool changes and offsets to keep parts in spec.
  • •Manually program CNC controllers via manual data input or load CAM generated programs; generate part programs using Mastercam.
  • •Measure workpieces for conformance to specifications and verify settings by regularly measuring parts before and after changes.
  • •Maintain safe operations by following safety procedures, document/communicate shift handover actions and irregularities, and interpret ISO blueprints into executable part programs.

Key Requirements

  • •High school, trade school graduate, or GED required.
  • •At least 6 months of experience working with CNC machines and equipment used in optical fabrication.
  • •Intermediate math skills (basic math, geometry, trigonometry) and familiarity with ISO blueprints.
  • •Intermediate computer skills, including Windows 10, MS Office, and SAP.
  • •Familiarity with measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and height gages.
