Key Responsibilities

  • •Collect semen by catching roosters and collecting into vials, and visually observe semen viability.
  • •Inseminate hens by catching, inverting, and presenting the oviduct for insemination following animal welfare guidelines.
  • •Record production and related information (e.g., bird weight, medications, feed intake, mortality) and perform simple math for recording.
  • •Support semen quality collection and evaluation (e.g., motility, mobility, density, color, volume) and input data using tablets/laptops/scanners.
  • •Maintain biosecurity and sanitation, including changing/showering procedures, equipment/area cleaning, and inspection/euthanasia duties per policy.

Key Requirements

  • •Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no job gaps greater than 6 months in the past 36 months (18 months if laid off or providing child/elder care).

  • •Must be willing and able to perform physical requirements including lifting and controlling hens/roosters up to 16 pounds and carrying catch frames up to 10 pounds.
