Job Summary

Maintain, troubleshoot, and support CAE full flight simulators and training devices in Perth, ensuring high operational readiness for pilot training. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, calibration, qualification testing, and simulator upgrades/refurbishments. Conduct pre- and post-flight simulator checks, monitor performance, and support technical recovery during disruptions. Maintain accurate technical records, complete certifications, and provide responsive customer and instructor support within a Technical Services team.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on flight simulators and associated equipment.
•Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and system-related issues, including visual alignments and calibration.
•Run and evaluate Qualification Test Guide (QTG) procedures and other diagnostic tests.
•Support simulator modifications, upgrades, refurbishment, and engineering change implementations; interpret schematics, system drawings, and technical documentation.
•Conduct pre-flight/post-flight checks, monitor simulator performance, assist with technical recovery, and maintain accurate maintenance records using the maintenance management system.

Key Requirements

•A technical trade qualification, diploma, associate degree, or equivalent training in electronics, avionics, electrical, mechanical, IT, or a related field.
•Typically 2–5 years of relevant technical experience in simulator maintenance, aviation, defence, industrial automation, electronics, or a similar environment.
•Experience troubleshooting electrical, electronic, mechanical, or computer-based systems.
•Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation.
•Proficiency using diagnostic/test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators; working knowledge of Microsoft Office and computer networking/software systems.
