Job Summary

Develop and enhance AFATDS International fire support command and control software for advanced battlefield capabilities. You’ll implement new/updated requirements, investigate and fix defects, and help shape future capabilities involving AI toolsets and algorithms. Work with technical mentors on an established plan and milestones, collaborating in an agile environment where you may serve as a Scrum Master or sub-team leader to coordinate day-to-day technical activities and sprint alignment.

Key Responsibilities

•Implement AFATDS software capabilities for new and/or updated requirements.
•Identify, analyze, and remedy bugs in existing AFATDS software.
•Develop future software capabilities involving AI toolsets and algorithms.
•Work with a technical mentor using defined project plans and milestones.
•Act as Scrum Master or sub-team leader to coordinate technical tasks and align to sprint goals.

Key Requirements

•Experience with one or more build tools/IDEs and development workflow tools (e.g., CMake, make, Visual Studio, VS Code, JIRA, Git, Subversion, Docker) and object-oriented languages such as C++ or Java.
•Typically requires a STEM degree and minimum 8 years relevant experience, or an advanced degree and minimum 5 years relevant experience.
•Experience developing software capabilities in Ada and/or Java for Fire Support Command and Control (C2) systems.
•Experience identifying, analyzing, and remedying bugs in existing software systems.
•Preferred: AI/ML and data science software development experience.
