Key Responsibilities

  • •Assist the Power and Distribution Manager to ensure systems are compliant with Nuclear Safety Functional Requirements (NSFRs).
  • •Ensure compliance with Safety Integrity Level (SIL) classifications for allocated Product Breakdown Structure (PBSs), producing ALARP statements when non-compliance exists.
  • •Undertake build surveillance activities on the platform in agreement with the Joint Build Assurance working group, Principle Naval Overseer, and ESO (Engineering System Owner).
  • •Ensure the Dreadnought design meets Defence Nuclear Organisation End User Requirements and provide technical author compliance statements.
  • •Engage with stakeholders and host/attend UK/US technical forums to transfer information across the NSRP and merge joint Learning from Experience (LfE) into the Electrical Power System (EPS) design.

Key Requirements

  • •Hold a BEng Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • •Demonstrated experience of IT systems.
  • •Knowledge of LV (Low Voltage <1000V) marine power systems.
  • •CEng/IEng status or working towards it.
  • •Provide technical compliance and build surveillance support for electrical power systems on the Dreadnought programme.
