Job Summary

Provide owner-side contracting and procurement support for the Hermosa project, leading end-to-end procurement and contracting for construction, equipment, materials, and services. Manage pre- and post-award activities, draft and administer contracts through their full lifecycle, and ensure commercial compliance, schedule alignment, cost control, and contractor performance. Base at the Hermosa Project Site near Patagonia, Arizona, while supporting contract close-out and continuous improvement of procurement practices.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop and execute contracting and procurement strategies aligned with project scope, schedule, and transition to operations.
•Lead pre-award contract and procurement activities including RFP/tender preparation, bid evaluations, clarifications, negotiations, and award recommendations/approvals.
•Draft contract and contract-related documents using South32 standard forms and support governance submissions and commercial reporting.
•Administer contracts across the full lifecycle, including invoice validation, change orders, amendments, claims support, KPI reporting, record management in Ariba/ERP systems, and close-out.
•Monitor and support contractor and supplier performance via progress meetings, performance reviews, and issue resolution to ensure adherence to contractual obligations and terms.

Key Requirements

•Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Accounting, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
•Minimum 7 years’ experience in contract and procurement in construction, mining, or heavy industry, with at least 5 years of mining-specific experience strongly preferred.
•Certifications such as Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified in Supply Management (CSM) (or other recognized supply chain certifications).
•Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, Aconex, and contract management/ERP systems.
•Strong written comprehension and writing skills, plus professional and ethical conduct.
