Job Summary

Serve as the primary legal partner to People Operations in the US, providing day-to-day employment counseling across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, leaves, accommodations, investigations, wage and hour, performance management, and separations. Handle administrative agency matters (EEOC, DOL) and employment litigation disputes (with outside counsel for higher-risk cases). Key Responsibilities

•Serve as primary legal partner to People Operations in the US for day-to-day employment counseling across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, leaves, accommodations, investigations, wage and hour, performance management, and separations.
•Handle administrative agency matters (EEOC, DOL) and employment litigation disputes, using outside counsel for specialized or high-risk matters as needed.
•Support development and documentation of sales commission and incentive compensation plans, and advise Benefits on compliance and vendor contract terms.
•Own OFCCP compliance reports and similar regulatory filings, oversee HR and payroll audits, help draft and update the Employee Handbook, and comment on employment training materials.
•Monitor and advise on AI-related employment developments (e.g., AI tools in hiring, performance management, workplace monitoring) and help shape internal policies as regulations evolve.

Salary: USD 200,000 - 250,000

Key Requirements

•J.D. and active membership in the New York or California State Bar (preferred), open to other U.S. jurisdictions.
•7–10+ years of employment law experience, in-house and/or in a reputable law firm advising high-growth technology companies.
•Strong working knowledge of state and federal employment law, including wage and hour, leaves of absence, accommodations, and workplace investigations.
•Experience handling administrative agency matters (EEOC, DOL) and employment dispute litigation/settlements.
•Strong drafting and communication skills to explain legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders, with ability to triage and manage multiple priorities; able to work onsite 2–3 days/week at NYC HQ.
