Job Summary

Lead the technical strategy and engineering to unify data silos into a federated enterprise data intelligence platform. Own lakehouse architecture evolution (Iceberg/Delta), design data mesh governance and data trust/observability standards, and guide agentic AI frameworks and enterprise AI registries. Provide senior technical mentorship, align data products and ML models to KPIs, and communicate architectural roadmaps and security risk assessments to executive leadership and the Board.

Key Responsibilities

•Unify disparate storage and compute into a high-performance lakehouse architecture supporting Iceberg/Delta Lake.
•Scale internal agentic frameworks and registry; design a data mesh with governed data zones for independent business-unit innovation.
•Define data trust and observability standards (contracts, metrics) for structured and unstructured data in batch and near-real-time contexts.
•Set global standards for high-performance query analytics, data modeling, and “Zero-Copy” architecture patterns; mentor intermediate and senior architects and engineers.
•Present architectural roadmaps, ROI projections, and security risk assessments to senior leadership and the Board; map data products and ML models to corporate KPIs.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: CAD 160,000 - 170,000 annually

Key Requirements

•10+ years of experience in data engineering and/or data architecture, including 1+ years at a staff or principal level.
•5+ years of experience in the AWS Redshift ecosystem.
•Mastery of Python, SQL, and Spark, including workflow orchestration (e.g., Airflow), infrastructure as code (Terraform/CloudFormation), and CI/CD testing pipelines.
•Deep hands-on expertise in AWS (S3, Glue, Redshift, Bedrock) or Google Cloud (BigQuery, Vertex AI).
•Expert knowledge of federated query engines, semantic layers, and modern “Zero-Copy” data sharing.
