Job Summary

Join the Regulated Water Asset Design team to design and deliver electrical, instrumentation, control and automation (EICA) solutions for water and wastewater treatment, sewerage and water network projects. Produce and review detailed EICA design deliverables that support tenders through commissioning, including specifications, calculations, reports and control philosophies. Review tender evaluations, participate in proposals and scoping, and support inspection, testing and site commissioning, while coaching junior ICA engineers.

Key Responsibilities

•Deliver EICA design inputs for infrastructure-related projects within the Water Engineering team.
•Prepare and/or review EICA package deliverables such as technical specifications, calculations, reports, datasheets, schedules, control philosophies, user requirement specifications and related documentation.
•Review and execute tender evaluations.
•Participate in proposals and scoping of work, identifying key tasks/packages and developing resourcing/time estimates.
•Manage and participate in inspection, testing, setting to work and commissioning stages relevant to ICA equipment and installations, including attending factory acceptance tests and coaching/mentoring junior engineers.

Key Requirements

•Degree qualified (IET accredited) in electrical or control engineering, or an electrical/control HND with substantial experience.
•Professional registration with the Engineering Council as a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer.
•Extensive EICA engineering design experience for water infrastructure, including preparing and reviewing EICA deliverables (technical specs, calculations, reports, datasheets, schedules, control philosophies, and network architecture drawings).
•Knowledge of DSEAR, electrical equipment in explosive atmospheres, and CDM regulations for installations.
•Strong client-facing skills and the ability to work collaboratively or independently, with willingness to travel to operational and construction sites for surveys, inspections and testing.
