Key Responsibilities

  • •Select and prepare pipe/materials and welding equipment based on specifications.
  • •Plan layouts and assemble components by laying out, positioning, aligning, and fitting parts for welding.
  • •Weld metal components for piping systems, plate/pipe/tube, and structural shapes in multiple positions including overhead.
  • •Connect and set welding unit parameters (amperage, voltage, slope, pulse) per procedure or supervisor.
  • •Assemble fabricated/cast/forged components into structural forms and produce welds meeting NDE requirements.

Key Requirements

  • •Select pipe, materials, and equipment according to specifications.
  • •Use welding processes such as Gas-Metal Arc, Flux-Cored Arc, Gas-Tungsten Arc, Submerged Arc, or Shielded Metal Arc.
  • •Ability to weld and fit components accurately using arc and arc gas welding equipment.
  • •Ability to certify/provide proficiency in SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW welding processes.
  • •Produce welds that meet NDE (non-destructive examination) requirements.
