Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead day-to-day management of a team of 6–10 backend engineers, including 1:1s, performance cycles, hiring, and onboarding.
  • •Stay close to the technical work by participating in design reviews, architectural discussions, and RFC feedback.
  • •Own team-level delivery through planning, prioritization, and blocker removal while balancing quality and velocity.
  • •Partner with product, data, and business stakeholders to shape the roadmap and represent engineering in cross-functional forums.
  • •Uphold engineering standards for code quality, testing, observability, reliability, and maintain a healthy incident and on-call culture.

Key Requirements

  • •Proven experience managing engineering teams (6+) in a fast-paced environment.
  • •Deep background in distributed systems (JVM/Kotlin/Java) and the ability to challenge architectural patterns.
  • •Understanding of high-throughput Postgres/Kafka stacks, including observability (SLOs/SLIs) and CI/CD.
  • •Agile delivery experience with a track record of delivering complex cross-team projects on time without burnout.
