Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform electrical failure analysis and fault isolation for backend test, internal qualification, and RMA failures to improve product reliability and production ramp.
  • •Operate uMate bench test platform and photon/thermal/laser stimulation tools (e.g., Hamamatsu iPHEMOS, Thermo Fisher ELITE).
  • •Characterize and model fail signatures using backend test, qualification, and fault-isolation approaches; use layout/schematic to support modeling.
  • •Apply fabrication-process and package-assembly knowledge to identify causes/effects of process- or assembly-related defects and delayed-breakdown failure signatures.
  • •Communicate and coordinate failure analysis results with management and cross-functional groups; produce organized, timely failure analysis reports.

Key Requirements

  • •Perform electrical failure analysis and fault isolation using electrical/physical characterization and data analysis to identify physical defects.
  • •Operate and use test/characterization platforms and tools, including uMate and photon/thermal/laser stimulating emission tools (e.g., Hamamatsu iPHEMOS, Thermo Fisher ELITE).
  • •Have strong understanding of physical and logical semiconductor design, including layout/schematic use for fault isolation and fail signature modeling.
  • •Understand CMOS fabrication process steps and package assembly flow, including reliability concerns and failure-deprocessing techniques.
  • •Demonstrate computer-aided layout/schematic experience, UNIX and programming experience, and strong communication/reporting skills for failure analysis findings.
