Key Responsibilities

  • •Analyse and interpret ATLAS data in the heavy-flavour hadron/fragmentation sector to progress the analysis to completion.
  • •Engage in other experimental particle physics research aspects within ATLAS.
  • •Disseminate research findings for publication and research seminars.
  • •Develop research objectives and proposals for own or joint research, and contribute to new models, techniques, and methods.
  • •Contribute to supervision and guidance for PhD students and support funding, and where appropriate licensing or spin-out activities.

Salary: GBP 36,636 - 48,822 annually

Key Requirements

  • •A PhD relevant to the research area (or near completion), or equivalent PhD-level qualifications; a heavy-flavour hadron production thesis topic is desirable.
  • •High level analytical capability to analyse and interpret research data.
  • •Ability to communicate complex information clearly.
  • •Fluency in relevant models, techniques, and methods, with ability to contribute to developing new ones.
  • •Ability to assess resource requirements, plan and organise the research programme, and coordinate work with others to avoid duplication.
