Key Responsibilities

  • •Monitor Wisconsin roadways and provide real-time traveler information for planned and unplanned events affecting traffic and congestion.
  • •Assess incoming traffic data, prioritize reporting needs, and maintain traffic incident reports for events on WI state highways.
  • •Locate, verify, and monitor unplanned incidents, construction, special events, and other issues impacting traffic flow and motorist safety.
  • •Communicate with statewide first responders, law enforcement dispatchers, field technicians, and public service agencies to determine incident severity for dissemination.
  • •Monitor ITS device functionality (CCTV, message boards, detectors, ramp meters), create maintenance requests, and provide real-time situational awareness updates.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • •Ability to work on a shift basis for a 24/7/365 operation center, including weekends, holidays, and coverage outside scheduled hours.
  • •Pass a client-required Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) background check.
  • •Strong, accurate data entry skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • •Skilled in Windows-based applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
