Key Responsibilities

  • •Define the long-term vision and technical strategy for the GenAI Platform, including orchestration, evaluation, agentic workflows, and foundation model training.
  • •Partner with Infrastructure on inference infrastructure, model serving, and reliability to keep the platform scalable and cost-efficient.
  • •Partner with Research to rapidly bring new models into production.
  • •Lead and grow a multidisciplinary team of ML Engineers, Software Engineers, and Researchers, setting direction while existing engineering leads manage day-to-day work.
  • •Build evaluation frameworks to measure model quality, cost, and latency consistently across the platform.

Key Requirements

  • •Hands-on ML or research experience, ideally with some research background, to lead credible technical discussions and make sound technical calls.
  • •Significant experience leading Machine Learning or AI organisations within product-focused companies, evolving from hands-on ML/research into leadership.
  • •Experience building and operating AI platforms, including model orchestration, evaluation pipelines, and/or agent frameworks, with enough grounding in inference infrastructure and model serving to partner with Infrastructure teams.
  • •Strong technical expertise across Generative AI, Computer Vision, and/or Foundation Models.
  • •Experience growing high-performing engineering and research teams through hiring, coaching, and organisational design.
