Key Responsibilities

  • •Architect and build the observability platform across collection, storage, query, and presentation for metrics, logs, distributed traces, and events.
  • •Run observability as an internal product by publishing interfaces, versioned client libraries, deprecation paths, and SLOs on the platform.
  • •Drive instrumentation with OpenTelemetry by building instrumentation libraries, collector deployments, semantic conventions, context propagation, and sampling strategies.
  • •Engineer telemetry pipelines at scale with enrichment, redaction, routing, reliability, backpressure handling, and tiered retention.
  • •Connect the platform end to end with CI/CD, service catalogs, incident management, ticketing, chat, and feature-flag systems via REST APIs, webhooks, and event-driven services.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years building and operating highly scalable, highly available distributed systems, platform services, or observability infrastructure.
  • •5+ years programming in Go, Python, Java/Kotlin, or TypeScript/Node.js, able to move between backend services and operational tooling.
  • •Hands-on depth across metrics, logs, and distributed tracing, including cardinality, sampling, cost mechanics, and defining SLOs and alerting.
