Key Responsibilities

  • •Act as go-to counsel and partner for teams building Abridge’s AI models and products, advising on legal issues spanning model development and downstream clinical use.
  • •Identify, address, and design mitigations for AI-specific legal risks including model behavior, output accuracy, IP, data provenance/training rights, and liability.
  • •Develop and scale legal processes, frameworks, and contract language suited to frontier AI development.
  • •Serve as an internal expert on AI legal and policy matters, shaping positions on emerging AI regulation and representing those positions with external stakeholders as needed.
  • •Support privacy impact assessments, model risk assessments, and data governance frameworks for AI training, fine-tuning, and deployment.

Key Requirements

  • •12+ years of legal experience, including 6+ years counseling on AI, machine learning, or emerging technology products.
  • •Prior in-house experience is required.
  • •Working knowledge of AI-specific legal issues, including IP/copyright in AI-generated content, training data rights, and model liability.
  • •Ability to translate complex regulatory and technical AI concepts into clear, practical guidance for non-legal, technical audiences.
