Job Summary

Design and oversee mechanical engineering for public health and wet services including HVAC, plumbing and drainage. Work on data centres, healthcare facilities, clean rooms and advanced manufacturing, with BIM using Revit and BIM360, under supervision of senior engineers.

Location: South Africa

Job Function: Field Service, Maintenance & Skilled Trades

Key Responsibilities

•Design and oversee plumbing and drainage design and calculations (SANS 10252 and SANS 10400) and EN BS standards where applicable.
•Perform BIM modelling and CAD drafting; coordinate with other disciplines and prepare tender documentation.
•Support project delivery on Wet Services packages, including project scoping, scheduling, and QA/QC to ensure timely completion.
•Collaborate with junior engineers and clients, ensuring clear communications and progress updates.
•Assist in site supervision and contractor management, ensuring conformance with design and quality standards.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•Must have a B Eng / BSc / B Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering with relevant experience.
•Must have minimum 3 years post-graduation working experience.
•Experience related to Mechanical engineering, specifically Public Health/ Wet Services, designs and construction monitoring on Data Centres, Healthcare Facilities, Clean Rooms or Advanced Manufacturing is advantageous.
•Must have a good understanding and working knowledge of Revit and BIM360.
•Experience in HVAC, Medical Gases, Mechanical Utilities, Fuel System Design, Vertical Transportation and Fire Engineering Services will be advantageous.
