Job Summary

Own the independent underwriting, structuring, and ongoing portfolio management of complex, sponsor-owned and leveraged middle-market credit relationships. Lead commercial underwriting, risk evaluation, and documentation for bilateral and left-lead transactions, while monitoring portfolio performance, risk rating integrity, and remediation activities. Partner with investment banking peers to deliver complex financing solutions and manage junior talent through deal execution and performance support.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the end-to-end commercial underwriting process, underwriting, structuring, and documenting prospect and client transactions, including independent analysis to identify and mitigate key risks.
•Manage assigned portfolio by monitoring performance and trends, defining client credit solutions, maintaining risk rating integrity, and handling annual reviews and compliance/regulatory reviews.
•Expand client relationships through consistent and direct client calling efforts and apply credit policy, pricing, and structure to meet client needs and risk acceptance criteria.
•Partner with investment banking peers to deliver complex financing solutions and maintain knowledge of corporate, investment, and commercial banking solutions and market trends.
•Manage deal team activities by utilizing assigned associates and analysts and mentoring/coaching junior talent, including supporting annual performance review processes.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field.
•7+ years of progressive experience in middle market credit and/or mid-corporate underwriting, leveraged finance, sponsor finance, and portfolio management within a bank or direct lending environment.
•Mastery-level proficiency with MS Office desktop applications.
•Strong interpersonal skills and solid written/verbal communication.
•Sound credit skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to prioritize workflow in a fast-paced environment.
