Key Responsibilities

  • •Design and ship the Kubernetes control plane, owning architecture and hardest implementation decisions (scheduling, operators, provisioning, node lifecycle) alongside your team.
  • •Grow engineers by setting ownership standards, removing obstacles, and coaching engineers past their comfort zone.
  • •Own reliability of the Kubernetes control plane, making critical calls during incidents and driving team learning from them.
  • •Automate cluster provisioning so “metal to on-demand” takes minutes rather than weeks of tickets.
  • •Lead people management for the team (hiring, performance, growth paths, honest feedback) and define team processes as it scales.

Key Requirements

  • •2+ years of real people leadership, including hiring, coaching, performance feedback, and growing engineers.
  • •Shipped production systems in Go (not just experimentation).
  • •Run Kubernetes in anger and have built parts of it (operators, schedulers, controllers) with hands-on Linux experience.
  • •Have run Kubernetes GPU workloads or be confident taking on that domain quickly.
  • •Extensive experience building backend or infrastructure systems, partnering with product/design/business to ship software used by real customers.
