Job Summary

Senior Software Engineer on the Cloud Data Services team building distributed backend systems in a microservice architecture. You’ll design, implement, and maintain customer-facing reports and alerts, using Java 21/Spring 6, REST, Docker, and SQL/NoSQL, while monitoring with Grafana/Prometheus. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure quality, availability, and performance of Akamai’s massive data platforms.

•Develop backend systems in a microservice architecture and ensure scalable, reliable services
•Collaborate with product management, architects and other engineering teams to build features that help customers understand product performance

•Work in a cross-functional team where quality and availability are key capabilities
•Contribute to building customer-facing reports and alerts that drive understanding of Akamai product performance

Key Requirements

•Backend development experience with Java 21 and Spring 6
•Experience building Web services using REST, Docker, SQL and/or No-SQL databases
•Experience monitoring applications with Grafana and Prometheus
•Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
•Excellent written and verbal English; good team player who collaborates well with others
