Job Summary

Lead the design, build, and ongoing operation of AI, workflow, automation, and integration solutions across Canva’s Finance systems. Use Workato as the primary iPaaS surface to deliver end-to-end integrations, improve reliability and observability, and drive automation adoption to reduce manual work and strengthen controls. Maintain SOX/ITGC controls across the integration layer and partner with platform, Finance, and IT stakeholders to translate requirements into well-architected solutions.

Key Responsibilities

•Own the architecture and design of integration, workflow, and automation solutions across Finance Systems platforms using Workato.
•Build, operate, and continuously improve those solutions end to end, including on-call support and incident response.
•Drive AI and automation adoption across Finance Systems by identifying opportunities to replace manual work, strengthen controls, and enable new ways for Finance to operate.
•Standardise integration/automation patterns across the team, including error handling, observability, retry logic, idempotency, secrets management, and documentation.
•Partner with platform engineers, Finance stakeholders, Technical Program Managers, Business Analysts, and implementation partners to translate requirements into well-architected solutions, while maintaining SOX/ITGC controls and audit support.

Key Requirements

•5+ years in systems engineering or integration engineering with hands-on ownership of complex cross-platform solutions, ideally in SaaS or enterprise finance technology.
•Deep hands-on Workato experience (or similar iPaaS such as MuleSoft, Boomi, or Informatica), including recipe/workflow orchestration, error handling, observability, and platform administration.
•Strong API integration skills across REST and SOAP, with fluency in XML and JSON and secure data transport (OAuth, mTLS, SFTP, PGP).
•Solid SQL is essential; Python is strongly preferred for data validation, ETL workflows, and scripting.
•Experience delivering automation solutions in finance, operations, or compliance contexts, with exposure to applying AI/LLM techniques, plus proven SOX and ITGC control/evidence management.
•Experience integrating with major ERP or core finance platforms such as NetSuite, Oracle Fusion, or SAP is required.
