Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform field inspections to verify construction compliance with plans, specifications, contract documents, and codified requirements.
  • •Collect and analyze physical site and technical data (surveys, blueprints, schematics, drawings, flow diagrams, and material sampling) for field inspection activities.
  • •Use survey instruments, metering devices, and test equipment to assess site conditions, layout/alignment/elevation, and conformance with rules, standards, codes, and permits.
  • •Generate accurate inspection documentation and technical reports, including photographs, sketches, calculations, and other concise records.
  • •Support project teams through guidance and problem resolution, attend pre-construction meetings, and assist with risk identification, quality control, and payment calculations.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma (or equivalent) and at least 9 years of relevant post-education experience with prior construction inspection experience.
  • •Strong knowledge of construction inspection principles, field inspection practices, and relevant construction codes, regulations, and record-keeping requirements.
  • •Proficiency with computer reporting and photo documentation, with working knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • •Essential professional licensure/certification(s), valid state driver’s license, and ability to pass an MVR background check.
  • •Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, direct others in the field, and handle travel (including staying for minimum 6-week project periods) and extreme weather/PPE/lifting/walking requirements.
