Key Responsibilities

  • •Research and develop an understanding of UK and international film/TV production incentives and how to apply them (e.g., the UK Audio Visual Expenditure Credit).
  • •Support the UK production tax team to evaluate and apply production incentives across features, series, documentaries, and animated productions, including application/audit documentation, reviewing budgeted incentives, and updating incentive tracking.
  • •Advise production finance and physical production teams on UK tax matters impacting production, including corporate taxes, VAT, PAYE, NIC, off-payroll worker rules, and FEU.
  • •Coordinate with external tax advisors and internal tax compliance/financial reporting teams for first review of statutory accounts and corporation tax computations/returns and ensure incentive administrative compliance.
  • •Assist and research production-tax matters by supporting Senior Analysts, monitoring UK and proposed legislation, preparing technical documentation, and providing tax input for initiatives and ad hoc queries.

Key Requirements

  • •Chartered Accountancy or a tax qualification.
  • •3 to 4 years of UK tax consulting or industry experience.
  • •Experience working on tax issues related to studio productions is preferred.
  • •Individuals who have recently qualified and are working toward senior/assistant manager level in an accountancy practice or studio are likely to be well suited.
