Job Summary

Provide specialized nursing care for gastrointestinal motility and procedural testing, owning the patient journey from pre-procedure education and preparation through post-procedure recovery. Perform and assist with diagnostic procedures such as oesophageal manometry and pH impedance, administer breath tests, support capsule endoscopy, monitor vital signs, and respond to complications. Coordinate with gastroenterologists to verify orders and ensure accurate, reliable diagnostic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform and assist with gastrointestinal motility studies including oesophageal manometry, pH impedance, anorectal manometry, rectal compliance, and sensation testing.
•Ensure correct technique and optimal functioning of motility and diagnostic equipment.
•Administer breath tests (Glucose/Lactulose Breath Tests and Gastric Emptying Breath Tests) according to approved protocols.
•Provide pre- and post-procedure support for Colon Capsule Endoscopy and Small Bowel Capsule Endoscopy, including bowel preparation verification and data processing for physician interpretation.
•Monitor patients during procedures and recovery, respond promptly to complications/adverse reactions, and educate patients and families on preparation, dietary and medication adjustments.

Key Requirements

•Hold a UAE Medical Health Authority License (DHA).
•Bachelor’s degree in nursing (or Degree in Nursing, minimum two-year course) and registration as a Registered Nurse from Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, or Australia.
•At least 2 years of hospital (or similar) experience.
•Strong technical capability to perform specialized GI motility and diagnostic procedures.
•Ability to communicate effectively with patients and families throughout the testing process.
