Key Responsibilities

  • •Own and evolve the hardware abstraction layer (HAL) bridging the switch ASIC SDK and application-layer software, including designing kernel modules for platform services.
  • •Implement, debug, and optimize L2/L3 protocol state machines (STP, IGMP snooping, LLDP, LACP, 802.1X, GVRP, DAI) as kernel modules and ensure standards conformance.
  • •Contribute to multi-unit stacking features including topology management, member election, configuration synchronization, firmware upgrade coordination, and hot-swap support.
  • •Develop and maintain firmware across multiple product families (ARM64 and MIPS), coordinating changes across shared codebases for consistency.
  • •Conduct thorough code reviews, define coding standards, identify performance/memory/race issues, and use AI coding agents for code generation, debugging, and prototyping.

Key Requirements

  • •B.Tech/B.E or M.Tech/M.E in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field.
  • •8+ years of professional embedded software development, with at least 3 years focused on networking or telecommunications.
  • •Strong C programming proficiency for embedded Linux systems, including kernel modules and user-space components.
  • •Hands-on experience with L2/L3 networking protocols, including at least two of: STP/RSTP/MSTP, IGMP snooping, LLDP, LACP, 802.1X, VLANs.
  • •Experience developing or maintaining Linux kernel modules and debugging with tools like GDB/strace and packet capture (tcpdump/Wireshark).
