Job Summary

Senior Engineer responsible for leading structural design and production within a project team, coordinating with WSP UK, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring detailed design aligns with building regulations and QA processes. You will prepare feasibility studies, develop design specifications, and supervise calculations and tender support to deliver cost-effective, compliant solutions.

Key Responsibilities

•Prepare feasibility study reports to meet brief requirements and review with the Associate/Principal Engineer of Structures
•Carry out detailed design to WSP and B Regulations standard ensuring CDM, QA and technical review and sign-off by the Associate/Principal Engineer of Structures
•Lead the design process and encourage the team to deliver appropriate and cost-effective solutions
•Review and monitor the production of calculations including QA, technical reviews and sign-off
•Provide documentary information via the WSP UK Team to assist in the preparation of tender documents and keep the team informed of design progress

Key Requirements

•Proven experience in the design of Building Structures with significant experience in a similar role or a demonstrable track record
•Ideally British Chartered Engineer status or equivalent; degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and membership to an accredited engineering body
•Demonstrated good management, communication and technical skills; ability to work both in a team and independently
•Good presentation skills
•Fluent in English with excellent understanding of technical terminology
