Job Summary

Lead the architecture, development, and continuous improvement of laboratory systems that enable scalable clinical testing operations. You will assess complex assay and operational performance, build validation and verification strategies, and drive technology transfer across wet lab workflows, automation platforms, and laboratory software solutions. Partner closely with R&D, Software, Bioinformatics, Laboratory Operations, Automation Engineering, and RA/QA to protect regulatory compliance and improve outcomes through KPI monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

•Independently assess assay and operational processes to identify gaps and risk signals from complex performance and analytical data.
•Design, develop, and implement tech transfer programs and scalable lab processes aligned to regulatory, safety, and business requirements.
•Develop performance qualification, validation, and verification plans and execute them to protect and scale laboratory operations (CAP, CLIA, NYSDOH, and other regulations).
•Collaborate with Software and Automation Engineering on user requirements, test cases, and release validation for laboratory non-product software and automation systems.
•Oversee complex wet laboratory testing and draft reports; present findings for change management and drive post-launch hypercare and continuous improvement using KPI monitoring.

Key Requirements

•Advanced degree in molecular biology, engineering, or related discipline; PhD or ASCP/CGMBS preferred (equivalent industry experience considered).
•8+ years of laboratory experience including R&D protocol and study designs, clinical laboratory LDT assay and automation development, and high-complexity testing.
•Must have hands-on next-generation sequencing (NGS) and DNA/RNA molecular biology experience.
•Experience designing and executing validation, verification, and performance qualification studies in regulated laboratory environments.
•Strong understanding of quality and regulatory standards (ISO 13485/15189, CAP, CLIA, NYSDOH) and experience authoring study/validation/verification plans, protocols, and reports.
