Design and evolve the core datastore service that powers TikTok’s global products, tackling multi-region active-active architecture, cross-region consistency, compliance, and high availability. Key Responsibilities

•Lead architectural design and evolution of the core data service in a global context, driving active-active solutions, cross-region consistency, and high availability.
•Develop and optimize core metadata management, storage, and distribution systems for extreme efficiency at trillion-level data scales and tens of millions of QPS.
•Integrate AI technologies into core data services, applying AI-native approaches for intelligent data insights, AI-assisted governance, and anomalous pattern detection.
•Analyze business needs and technology trends to define the medium-to-long-term roadmap for data services and lead the team through key technical challenges.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science (or related) with 5+ years developing large-scale backend distributed systems.
•Deep hands-on experience designing and implementing active-active, globalized architectures with knowledge of associated challenges and solutions.
•Proficiency in at least one mainstream backend language (e.g., Go, C++, Java) with strong coding and clean-code practices, plus an AI-native mindset.
•Proven ability to lead design and successful delivery of complex distributed systems projects with demonstrable results.
•Preferred: practical experience with AI-native systems/AIOps and applying AI/ML technologies to infrastructure.
