Key Responsibilities

  • •Assess, plan, and coordinate aerodrome safeguarding and infrastructure changes to maintain safety, regulatory compliance, and operational capability.
  • •Support governance and assurance activities to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • •Review planning applications within the airport’s safeguarding area and evaluate safety impacts of aerodrome developments and operational changes.
  • •Provide ongoing oversight of compliance with CAA requirements, aerodrome licence obligations, safeguarding guidance, and airport standards.
  • •Liaise with internal stakeholders and external regulators, resolve conflicting priorities, and recommend whether projects or operational changes can proceed safely while escalating significant risks.

Key Requirements

  • •Knowledge of CAP 168 / UK Reg 139 (or equivalent aviation frameworks).
  • •Knowledge of CAP 738 Aerodrome Safeguarding, CAP 791 Changes for Aerodrome Infrastructure and Safety Management Systems (SMS), and change management principles.
  • •Experience supporting the safe delivery of airside changes and infrastructure projects.
  • •Experience within regulatory compliance for safeguarding and operational change.
  • •Awareness of military aviation regulation (MAA) (desirable).
