Key Responsibilities

  • •Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for the role’s scope, including analysis, commentary, and follow-up on material movements and issues.
  • •Partner with Commercial and Product Group Controllership teams on sales and marketing reporting, accounting matters, financial controls, and Kennecott reporting deliverables.
  • •Manage end-to-end controllership requirements for copper third-party trading activities, including reporting, accounting assessment, governance, and issue resolution.
  • •Assess commercial arrangements and transactions, prepare clear accounting analyses and briefing papers, and seek specialist input when needed.
  • •Apply effective financial reporting controls and support compliance with IFRS, Rio Tinto accounting policies, internal controls, and SOx requirements, including audit support.

Key Requirements

  • •Demonstrated experience in controllership, management or statutory reporting, technical accounting, audit, or a related Finance role.
  • •Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial controls, SOx requirements, and how accounting policy applies to commercial arrangements.
  • •Ability to analyse financial information, identify key drivers and risks, and communicate clear insights and recommendations.
  • •A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business or a related discipline, plus a professional accounting qualification such as CPA, CA, CIMA or equivalent.
