Key Responsibilities

  • •Safely transport bulk scrap commodities to and from barges, railcars, trucks, and storage facilities.
  • •Operate construction trucks (up to approximately 100 ton) and transport scrap/finished materials between designated locations.
  • •Inspect the vehicle prior to operation and note issues requiring maintenance.
  • •Perform approved maintenance, fueling, and lubrication as needed.
  • •Follow loading, traveling, dumping, startup/shutdown, and lockout procedures, and ensure the vehicle is clean and in working order at shift end.

Key Requirements

  • •High school graduation certificate or equivalent (desired but not required).
  • •Previous experience operating heavy equipment is a plus.
  • •Valid driver’s license and thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving.
  • •Ability to operate and maintain equipment safely at all times.
  • •Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and work in all weather conditions, including all shifts and weekends.
