Lead capital projects, process improvements, and equipment upgrades in a high-temperature metal-making environment. Bridge operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and with long-term reliability. Travel to UK for initial training, then act as trainer and project team lead for the US site, coordinating with metallurgists, process and automation engineers, and external vendors.

Job Function: Construction, Civil & Site Engineering

Key Responsibilities

•Project Management: Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and risk registers; coordinate stakeholders, contractors, and OEMs; lead meetings and track milestones; oversee installation, commissioning, and handover of equipment.
•Engineering & Technical: Provide engineering support for melting, casting, rolling, forging, or heat-treatment operations; analyze data to identify bottlenecks; support equipment design reviews and acceptance testing; conduct root-cause analyses and implement corrective actions; ensure accurate engineering documentation.
•Safety & Compliance: Ensure activities comply with site safety rules and regulations; lead hazard assessments and promote safety culture.
•Technical Leadership & Collaboration: Mentor engineers, lead cross-functional problem-solving sessions, and ensure designs meet metallurgical and operational specs; coordinate with operations, procurement, and quality teams.
•Cross-Functional & Training: Serve as technical liaison, support trials and performance testing, and train site teams; travel to UK site for training and knowledge transfer

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, metallurgical, or industrial engineering (or equivalent).
•3+ years of engineering experience in heavy industry (steel, aluminum, foundry, forging, or similar).
•Proven experience managing capital or process-improvement projects.
•Strong understanding of industrial equipment, automation, and reliability principles.
•Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
