Job Summary

Design dense, data-heavy prototype interfaces for Air Traffic Management use cases in the AIR Lab. Partner with product owners, developers, data scientists, CAAS stakeholders, and air traffic controllers to translate domain workflows into clear journeys, information architecture, and interaction specifications. Create and maintain artifacts in Figma, support developer handovers, review implemented interfaces for usability and consistency, and help produce user documentation and training materials.

Key Responsibilities

•Work with product owners, developers, data scientists, and aviation stakeholders to understand concept objectives, user needs, and domain workflows.
•Translate Air Traffic Management concepts into user journeys, information architecture, UI visual design, interaction behaviours, prototypes, and UI specifications.
•Design dense prototype interfaces (maps, flight/trajectory data, simulations, dashboards, analytics, constraints, weather, statuses, alerts) and develop lab design patterns/design system direction.
•Collaborate with developers through UI handovers, requirement clarification, design iterations, implementation review, and interaction validation; resolve issues.
•Present and justify design decisions to technical teams and management, and support user documentation, user guides, training materials, and stakeholder-facing presentations.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in UI/UX Design, HCI, Human Factors, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Engineering, Aviation, Computer Science, or related field.
•Practical UI/UX design experience for complex digital products, enterprise systems, data-heavy applications, or technical prototypes.
•Strong proficiency in design software, especially Figma; Illustrator or equivalent visual design tools would be useful.
•Experience designing interfaces with dashboards, tables, filters, forms, maps, charts, status indicators, notifications, or real-time data.
•Ability to write clear design requirements/notes and specification details such as UI behaviour and acceptance criteria.
