Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform preventive maintenance and repairs, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on trailers/equipment with little or no supervision.
  • •Document work per company standards, including uploading pictures, parts used, and findings to Repair Orders using company iOS device and TRAIT application.
  • •Perform minor adjustments and repairs on trailer brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps and engines, liftgates, and brake chambers; diagnose electrical components.
  • •Accurately complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely manner, and manage concurrent assigned tasks and daily schedule.
  • •Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on the company service truck, conduct safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections, and respond to dispatched unscheduled service requests.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma/GED and 3 years of experience in a related trailer field, or alternative combinations such as 5 years of experience.
  • •Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary for required duties.
  • •Complete required training and successfully pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical (or submit a valid DOT medical card with more than 4 months remaining).
  • •Be at least 21 years or older and hold a valid state-of-residence driver’s license; obtain and maintain the Driver Qualification File.
  • •Obtain required/obtained within 18 months: ASE T8 (PMI) certification; OEM training/certifications are preferred.
