Job Summary

Drive strategic supply network development and cost management for product hardware across its lifecycle by partnering with suppliers and cross-functional teams. Lead supplier selection, joint design and development activities, manufacturing BOM consolidation, CAPEX management for NPI, and value-stream mapping to improve lead time and flexibility. Own BOM risk assessment, component qualifications, and cost engineering to converge bottoms-up costs and manage cost issues such as tariffs and inflation.

Key Responsibilities

•Conduct supplier selection for a specific product using the approved supplier list.
•Partner with strategic suppliers to accelerate product development activities such as concept scoping, trade tables, should-cost models, joint design development, and simulation of mechanical and electronics designs.
•Develop and consolidate a manufacturing BOM with Quality and Manufacturing to ramp production internally and with suppliers.
•Manage CAPEX throughout NPI and conduct value-stream mapping to optimize supply network lead time and flexibility.
•Lead cost engineering activities to converge bottoms-up cost to product cost, reduce complexity via commonality and supplier rationalization, and manage ad-hoc cost issues such as tariffs and cost inflation.

Travel: Medium travel

Salary: USD 143,000 - 191,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in engineering or another technical field.
•10+ years of experience in sourcing engineering, supplier engagement and development, or design of electronics and/or mechanical devices.
•Domain expertise in value/procurement engineering or TCO-related work at the component and product level.
•Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
•Ability to relocate to be onsite in Huntsville, AL if not already local.
