Job Summary

Lead the delivery of complex drainage schemes to help reduce flooding risk and support sustainable communities in South Wales. You’ll develop drainage solutions across feasibility, planning, tender, detailed design, and construction support, ensuring compliance with SuDS standards and guidelines. Working in a multidisciplinary Communities team, you’ll collaborate with ecologists and civil/structural/geotechnical engineers, perform quality assurance, support contract documentation, and contribute to safe delivery and stakeholder engagement with clients and authorities.

Key Responsibilities

•Oversee complex drainage schemes from conception through delivery.
•Develop drainage solutions for highway, infrastructure, and site development projects across feasibility, planning, tender, detailed design, and construction support stages.
•Design sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) using current standards, guidelines, and contemporary environmental solutions.
•Conduct quality assurance checks and prepare/approve contract documents and specifications.
•Take responsibility for health, safety, and welfare, including personal development and the development of others.

Key Requirements

•Relevant professional qualifications or actively working towards professional qualification.
•Strong experience delivering and overseeing drainage design from feasibility through detailed design in line with SuDS.
•Knowledge of relevant standards and guidance, including manuals and frameworks such as Sewers for Adoptions, DMRB, Local Design Specifications, CDM2015, and BIM.
•Experience preparing and approving contract documents and specifications.
•Skilled with tools such as Civil 3D, Causeway Flow, or Micro-Drainage.
