Key Responsibilities

  • •Inspect and process eggs for incubation and inspect/process chicks.
  • •Grade and transfer eggs from pedigree flocks for hatch; tray eggs by observing shell characteristics; place substandard eggs in a container.
  • •Enter egg and chick information data onto a touchscreen tablet.
  • •Perform sanitation activities including operating tray washer and cleaning/sanitizing setters, hatchers, egg rooms, tables, drains, and chick processing areas.
  • •Participate in chick processing: wingbanding, vaccination using a gun, counting chicks, delivering chicks to brooding houses, and euthanizing selected or substandard chicks using approved methods.

Key Requirements

  • •Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps greater than 6 months in the past 36 months (18 months if laid off or providing child/elder care).
