Key Responsibilities

•Lead the design, development, and delivery of highly trafficked production systems for the routing cost engine within the broader navigation organization (~80 engineers).
•Design and implement scalable services for API and routing engine tiers with strong emphasis on deployment, resilience, and observability.
•Run and design experiments to measure quality, reliability, and capacity requirements of user-facing navigation products.
•Collaborate with product owners, sales engineering, and management to shape future product direction.
•Participate in an on-call rotation to keep systems available 24/7, including potential after-hours responses.

Key Requirements

•8-10+ years of engineering experience
•Proficiency in C++, Python, and/or Rust; strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, design patterns, memory management, multithreading, and performance optimization
•Cloud proficiency with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Google Cloud Spanner, Azure SQL) and cloud deployments
•Mentorship and leadership experience in scaling engineering teams
•Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (security, devops, data, compliance and product)
