Job Summary

Lead UK and Irish transport planning projects as Project Manager and/or Technical Lead, delivering transport strategies, active travel infrastructure schemes, business cases, and transport programmes from inception to completion. Manage the technical and commercial aspects, oversee financial performance, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams across WSP service lines. Drive growth for the Irish Transport Planning team through client engagement, bids, and bid management, while supporting and developing junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

•Act as Technical Lead and/or Project Manager across transport planning projects, leading technical and commercial aspects.
•Deliver transport strategies, active travel infrastructure schemes, business cases, and transport programmes from inception to completion.
•Take the lead on multidisciplinary teams and coordinate delivery with other WSP service lines on large projects.
•Lead transport planning bids, including serving as Bid Manager.
•Support junior team members through people management or mentoring and contribute to Irish Transport Planning team growth via client relationships and winning work.

Key Requirements

•Lead and manage active travel schemes, including NTA PAG Phase 2-4 schemes.
•Develop and manage transport strategies, plans, and policies, including delivering transport plans through the ABTA process.
•Experience in transport planning areas such as business case development, transport assessments, scheme feasibility, and concept design.
•Engage and build relationships with public and private sector clients, with strong bid writing, client engagement, and conference presentation skills.
•Possess or be working towards Chartered status or relevant professional qualifications (e.g., Engineers Ireland, CIHT, TPP, CEng).
