Key Responsibilities

  • •Evaluate investment proposals and business development opportunities using valuation models.
  • •Support capital expenditure and project justification business cases with clear context, rationale, and expected outcomes.
  • •Draft investment committee papers and presentations for Rio Tinto leadership with accuracy and strategic alignment.
  • •Lead financial planning and modeling for annual long-term plan submissions, maintaining assumptions and inputs.
  • •Support financial reporting processes, including impairment testing and other valuation-related requirements.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field, with 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate work experience (or a Master’s degree with 3 years).
  • •3 years of experience in financial valuation of assets using discounted cash flow (DCF) methodologies.
  • •3 years of experience in financial modeling, including Excel and VBA for automation and analysis.
  • •3 years of experience applying valuation metrics (NPV and IRR) to investment decisions, project evaluation, and asset valuation.
  • •1 year of experience in the mining or Oil & Gas industry and knowledge of asset impairment testing under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
