Key Responsibilities

  • •Design, build, and operate GCP and on-prem infrastructure behind Firecrawl products.
  • •Run large stateful and high-throughput Kubernetes workloads (search clusters, crawling fleets, queues, databases) with zero-downtime upgrades.
  • •Own CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, automations, and containerized deployments across the platform.
  • •Drive down infrastructure cost per request as traffic and data volume grow.
  • •Build observability and define SLIs, SLOs, and customer-facing SLAs; own the incident lifecycle with engineers (on-call, triage, postmortems).

Key Requirements

  • •Operated stateful distributed systems on Kubernetes at real scale, not just stateless services.
  • •Deep experience with a major cloud (GCP, AWS, or Azure), Docker, and Terraform.
  • •Run large-scale, data-heavy production systems such as search platforms, crawling, or ingestion pipelines; hands-on Vespa experience is a plus.
  • •Care about latency, cost, and reliability in equal measure.
  • •Experience with security and compliance infrastructure such as SSO/SAML, audit logging, network isolation, and SOC 2 is a plus.
