Job Summary

Design and review process elements for wastewater and water treatment infrastructure projects, supporting site surveys, hydraulic and capacity assessments, and preparation of PFDs/P&IDs, calculations, and technical reports. Lead through feasibility, outline, detail, and construction design stages while collaborating with multi-discipline teams and clients. Assist with bid preparation, ensure deliverables meet budgets and timelines, and mentor more junior staff while using digital tools such as BIM and Projectwise.

Key Responsibilities

•Undertake design and review of process elements for wastewater and water infrastructure/treatment projects, including hydraulic assessments, capacity reviews, and process equipment design.
•Produce and review process documentation and analyses such as PFDs, P&IDs, mass/energy balances, headloss calculations, and pumping system analysis.
•Support safety reviews and documentation, including Hazardous Area Classification and LoPA, plus HAZOP and HAZID assessments.
•Engage across design stages (Feasibility, Outline, Detail, and Construction Design) and ensure compliance with national and international design standards.
•Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, assist with bids and proposals, and delegate/direct work while mentoring more junior staff.

Key Requirements

•Proven experience designing water and wastewater engineering deliverables, ideally including treatment schemes.
•BEng or MEng in a related engineering field with experience in water and wastewater treatment.
•Chartered (or near Chartered) Member of a relevant Professional Institution.
•Proven experience working at a senior engineer level in a consultancy within the water sector.
•Experience managing projects, delegating tasks, and providing technical mentoring.
